Are dental X-rays safe?

It is a known fact that radiation exposure can cause changes in the tissue and cell structure, which can lead to other serious health problems. Radiation exposure can happen from Sun exposure, appliances in your home, dental x-rays etc. The exposure caused by digital dental x-rays is extremely small.

With new advancements in the field of x-rays, digital x-ray systems reduce the amount to a minimal dosage, which has very little effect on the cells. Older systems cause more radiation exposure than newer digital systems. Usage of lead apron also protects patients from radiation.

We use latest fully digital panoramic xray system by Sirona to protect our patient family in our dental office in Etobicoke.
