About Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers (also known as Porcelain laminates) are thin porcelain that the dentist can attach to the front, visible surface, of a damaged or discolored tooth. The most notable advantage of porcelain is in its unique resemblance to organic teeth’s shine and structure. Properties such as these render veneers into a significantly attractive option for patients who would like a smile makeover.
What should I expect during my initial appointment?
During your first consultation, our dentist will educate you about the differing veneer materials available to patients. We will also provide you with some examples of past treatments in order to further discuss your smile enhancement options.
How are veneers affixed?
To prepare the tooth, a minute layer of the tooth’s enamel will first be removed while the patient is provided with a localized anesthetic. A mold of the prepared tooth is then created and sent to the lab to fabricate a custom fit. At this point, the shade selection for the veneer is also done.
During your following visit, the custom-made dental veneers are bonded to your front teeth with a specialized adhesive.
